SAFARI

6 Days

OVERVIEW

The 6 days Safari will give you a Glimpse of Tanzania’s wildlife abundance, it is a wildlife adventure that will leave you amused about the wild animals in their natural habitat.

ARRIVAL DAY

On arrival and after border formalities, you will be welcomed by our guide, who will transfer you to your Hotel in Arusha town (HB). Depending on your arrival time, it is possible to do a game drive in Arusha National Park on the same day. However, we highly recommend you overnight in Arusha at a lodge/hotel, this will save hotel costs and avoid rushing.

On your way to Arusha town, you will be welcomed by great views of Mount Kilimanjaro (when the sky is clear), the highest in Africa covering 5895m, and the second highest Mount Meru covering 4563m above sea level. You will encounter different ways of living practiced by locals and plenty of banana and coffee farms.

PROGRAM

Day 1, Arusha National Park

You will be picked up from your hotel at 9 am and start a drive out of town for about 40minutes to Arusha National Park gate. The park has a lot to offer in the day from wildlife to fascinating activities that will leave you with an experience of its kind. Your day ends at the Lodge in town where you will retreat for dinner and overnight.

The park is situated a few kilometers away from Arusha town. This thrilling Park has a rich variety of wildlife, but one shouldn’t expect the same game-viewing experience they find in other national parks of Tanzania’s northern circuit. Visiting the park begins with the pick-up from your hotel and driving to the park’s main gate. After checking in at the gate, the game drive will proceed into the park. Arusha national park is famous for

Interesting facts about the park;

-The Park covers an area of 137kms

-Smallest Park in Northern Circuit of Tanzania

-It has a crater called Ngurdoto

-I boast over 400 bird species

-One of the few places you can see the blue monkeys in Tanzania

-Host the second highest peak of Tanzania, Mount Meru with a height of 4565m

-Less visited park in the northern, yet one of the most thrilling

Day 2, Arusha – Tarangire National Park

You will be picked up from your hotel at 8 am and drive alongside the great rift valley to the iconic Tarangire National Park for a full-day game drive. Your day ends at a lodge/tented camp where you will retreat overnight.

Tarangire is a breathtaking and fascinating wildlife destination, you will only realize how beautiful the park is once you get in. With high encounters of big herds of elephants (bigger than anywhere else in the northern parks of Tanzania), the biggest baobab trees, thousands of wildebeests and zebras as they turn from their calving grounds of Lokisale and Simanjiro plains bringing calves home to get permanent water from Tarangire river and other sources like Silalei swamps and prominent ponds. Tarangire is endowed with such a good habitat and vegetation giving it a good cover enough to offer 4 out of the big five namely Lions, Leopards, Buffalo, and Elephants. Tarangire is unique in many ways but the frequency of witnessing lions on trees is second to Manyara National Park. For birdlife lovers, this is home of birds, get stunned by the high concentration and diverse bird species here.

Day 3, Tarangire – Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you will start your journey through the great rift-valley heading to Serengeti National Park for a game drive and overnight at the Lodge/Tented Camp in Serengeti

The great rift valley makes up a great part of lake Manyara National park including the alkaline lake itself. As you cross this area and ascend the escarpment towards Serengeti you will be amused with epic scenes of the valley. We recommend stopping at the viewpoint for landscape viewing as you enjoy baboon playgrounds along the way. This long drive to Serengeti turns more interesting as you enter the Ngorongoro Conservation area. Simply it’s a game drive on the go until you enter central Serengeti.

Day 4, Full Day in Serengeti National Park

This day we suggest that you wake up early in the morning and get the chance to witness a wonderful sunrise. You will have a full-day game drive in Serengeti with Lunch and return for overnight at Acacia Tented Camp

The Park stands uniquely for hosting the world’s largest migration of wildebeest and zebras across river mara. This vast and beautiful short grassland makes a perfect cover and habitat for Antelopes and big cats’ ecosystems. Kopjes are perfect hide and spotting points for predators here. With more time here, you can witness predators hunting impalas, gazelles, hartebeest, elands, zebras, wildebeests, buffalo, and on very few occasions giraffes. Hyenas and vultures are highly populated in Serengeti.

This is not all but Serengeti National Park provides a perfect habitat for well over 480 species of birds. Your day ends at the Lodge/Camp in Central Serengeti

Day 5, Serengeti – Ngorongoro Conservation Area

We suggest a very early wake-up on this day in order to have enough time for a game drive and also get a chance to see the most colorful sunrise ever. You will do your game drive until lunchtime and take your packed hot lunch at the public picnic site. Also, you can arrange with your guide to return to the camp/lodge for a brunch before departing to Ngorongoro for an overnight at the Lodge/Tented Camp.

You will have a rewarding half-day game drive in Serengeti National Park. Depending on the month of the year, if you’ll be traveling from July to September, we would advise you spend your night in Northern Serengeti to witness the great migration of wildebeests crossing river Mara on their way to Masai mara in Kenya.

For other months of the year, we suggest you head to the Eastern part of Serengeti for a game drive and depending on your guide’s instruction. In the east, there is a high chance of spotting herds of wildebeest on their way to the Mara River or down to the Ndutu area for Calving season. Driving beyond expectations in these vast plains bordering north Mara or the Southern part close to the Ndutu area will leave you amused and it is truly an adventure to its fullest. For photographers and bird life lovers this tour is for you.

Day 6, Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha Town

We start our day very early ready to descend into the crater floor for an incredible and most valued game drive to see wildlife in the most beautiful place on earth, truly the garden of Eden.  After the game drive, you will have lunch at a public picnic site after which you will start ascending the walls of the crater 5.6km to the rim before exiting the Ngorongoro conservation area to Arusha for dinner and overnight or for flying out.

Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s most famous and biggest caldera. The caldera has a 19km of diameter and 260km circumference offering one of the largest concentrations of wildlife due to the availability of water and food almost all year round. The crater has a river, several swamps, a soda lake with a great concentration of flamingos, a forest, and open plains. Gorgor and Mwanduzi swamps are home to the oldest male elephants with the longest tusks ever, buffalos, and hippos all year round. The crater is a very important hide and habitat for endangered species of wildlife. One of few places with a high population density of black rhinos in the world.
